Winding Back The Clock & Taking Stock

Since launching the ReGen Brands Podcast in July 2022, Kyle and Anthony have witnessed and helped document real growth in the regenerative CPG landscape. The regenerative movement is top of mind for retailers, investors, brands and consumers. New brands have been created and existing brands are getting on board – many of the products discussed on the show today didn’t exist or lacked regenerative claims just three years ago. While Kyle and Anthony were initially unsure there were even enough companies to support 100 episodes, they now see a clear path to 200.

ReGen Brands has also grown along with the movement. What started out as a curiosity-driven podcast has now morphed into a formal network of non-profits supporting regenerative CPG: ReGen Brands Institute, ReGen Brands Coalition, and ReGen Brands Capital. The podcast has become a trusted platform for learning how food is really made and what it takes to build a regenerative brand today.

One thing has remained true across the 100 episodes: all of the guest brands have shown up prepared for vulnerable and transparent conversations. Anthony and Kyle appreciate each guest and note that the podcast (or the wider ReGen Brands community) could not be what it is today without the enthusiasm, courage, and collaborative spirit of the participants.

“The podcast is such a testament to the brands, because it'd be really easy for them to stay siloed and not communicate in public channels. It'd be really easy for people to dodge questions or to not share what the real realities are. I've been so impressed and grateful for the level of transparency that our guests have displayed and that ultimately is what makes the show good or not.” – Anthony

A Little Roasting and Lots of Love

Behind the scenes of the ReGen Brands Podcast, Anthony and Kyle have built a rhythm full of quirks and inside jokes. Kyle is known for his signature phrases like “you’re spot on” and “we’re stoked to have you,” always armed with a book recommendation and occasionally sneaking in breakfast mid-episode. He is also hilariously self-deprecating, continuously downplaying his own expertise despite speaking with hundreds of farmers and regenerative brands. Anthony brings the hype with his energetic “hell yeah!", "let’s go!” and somehow manages to slip the word “bifurcate” into every episode. From kids climbing in through windows to guests arriving shirtless and sweaty post-jog, the duo has embraced the unpredictable chaos of podcasting with humor and grace.

Beyond the laughs, Kyle and Anthony also share a moment of gratitude with one another. Anthony credits Kyle for grounding him, offering steady wisdom and therapeutic support during high-stress moments. Kyle, in turn, acknowledges Anthony’s vision and hustle for launching the podcast and pulling him into a project that’s expanded both their voices and impact. Their partnership is built on trust, balance, and a shared belief in regenerative change.

“[This podcast has given] me a sense of confidence that maybe I can say something in a way that people can hear. Maybe I can explain something in a way that resonates differently than how somebody else could do it. And you don't have to necessarily be the smartest person in the room or the person with the most experience. But if you can articulate something well, then maybe someone will listen. If anybody else out there is listening and thinking that they have something they want to say, and they're not sure if they can do it or not, I would encourage you to do what AC helped me do and step outside your comfort zone a little bit. And you'd be surprised at the results.” – Kyle

The Regen Awards: Celebrating Standout Guests & Episodes

Episode 100 wouldn’t be complete without some awards for the brands. While there have been so many incredible guests and insightful moments, below are a few standouts. Listen to the episode for the backstory, especially for the funniest moment and sweatiest guest!

Regen Products We’re Loving Right Now

Anthony and Kyle continue the celebration by sharing some of their favorite regenerative products they are currently consuming. Anthony is on a dairy kick with Alexandre Family Farms Kefir and Kalona Supernatural Sour Cream (in his words, “the Mercedes Benz of sour creams”). Kyle is crushing El Nacho Tortilla Chips (especially the Hot Honey Mango), Little Sesame Preserved Lemon Hummus, and Maui Nui Meat Sticks. For a fancy meal, he’s treating himself to a Wild Idea Bison Filet. Big Picture Foods is also always on the list for both hosts — banana peppers for Anthony and mixed greek olives for Kyle.

Bold Predictions: What We Think Is Coming Before Episode 200

Looking ahead, Anthony and Kyle believe the next chapter for regenerative CPG hinges on greater visibility and wider stakeholder collaboration. They predict that top natural channel retailers will adopt “path to purchase” signage to help consumers identify and support regenerative products — a crucial unlock for scaling impact and mainstreaming the movement. They also foresee a broader cultural shift, anticipating a zeitgeist moment that propels regenerative agriculture into public consciousness, whether through a Super Bowl ad or unexpected celebrity endorsement. Kyle adds that as climate-related natural disasters increase, regenerative farms will begin to stand out for their resilience, further fueling awareness and demand.

“I think that by episode 200, most top natural channel retailers—Whole Foods, Sprouts, Natural Grocers, and so on—will have incorporated some sort of path to purchase signage in their stores to support regenerative brands.” – Kyle
